Local Students Win iPads

The Shannon County Health Center awarded new iPads to winners of a sign contest at two area schools that chose to participate in their Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services program which works toward injury prevention and education in the community.

The contest asked for students to come up with a creative sign to promote seat belt use. The most creative sign for Eminence was designed by Kayla King (pictured above left) who was presented her new iPad by Pete McBride, Eminence High School principal. Josh Ashlock, Resource Officer for Liberty High School, is pictured (right) giving Mackenzie Hergesheimer her new iPad.

The Shannon County Health Center had the winning design made into signs that were erected at the respective school campuses, reminding students and staff of the need to buckle up. Funding for the project was provided in part through the Missouri Dept. of Health and Senior Services Maternal and Child Health services which is supported by HRSA.
